fettuccini alfredo failure

The night before last I whipped up some Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken. It looked like this:

And it was pretty much a failure. Hard to imagine because it looked so delicious, huh?!

I combined two recipes from Emeril Lagasse off of the Food Network website. I specifically bought shallots, cream, a block of parmigiano reggiano and real butter but even my heart-clogging ingredients couldn't save this one.

Someday I will attempt to make a Fettuccini Alfredo recipe again, with a lot more garlic and shallots. I will give this one credit for tasting better the second day, albeit a lot less attractive.

Tonight we're trying Chicken Empanadas. Hopefully this one will be a success. I'm 1 and 1 on my new recipe scoreboard, I'd love for yummy recipes to take the lead. Anything wrapped in puff pastry should be edible though.

Onto other projects.

I found out the other day that my sister's first baby is a.....GIRL! Bring on the pink!! (Okay, my sister would hate all things pink, so maybe we'll stick with yellows and teals)

Been looking forward to knowing what she's having so I can start my baby crafting. I got right to it yesterday by making some trial rosettes that I plan on sewing onto onesies.

Backside, I honed my sewing skills on the second one.
Frontside. Left one was my first.
I found this cute tutorial to make my frayed rosettes here: Made by the Mama Monster. They may not look like much now, but on a onesie on a cute little baby girl - they'll be adorable!

There are tons of others that I'm experimenting with as well. Figuring out how to attach them to the onesie will be my biggest hurdle. I think sewing them might be a bit much on a little babies skin, but I saw one tutorial where the woman used fabric glue - might try that! I'll keep ya'll posted...
